Otley Chevin Engagement Session in Leeds | Tom & Sarah

Otley Chevin Engagement Session

Wedding Photographer Leeds

(Muddiest session to date)

The Couple:

Tom and Sarah first met me at the Railway Museum in York when I was exhibiting. Their wedding in East Riddlesden Hall sounded absolutely amazing to me and I was so pleased when they decided to book me to take their wedding photos for their Yorkshire wedding. When we were discussing where to go for their pre-wedding session, Otley Chevin seemed absolutely perfect – it’s close to their home and so beautiful even in winter. This was my first time shooting an  Otley Chevin engagement session, and I absolutely loved it.

The Location:

Otley Chevin is north of Leeds City and the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. The Chevin Forest Park overlooks the Wharfe Valley and has a really varied landscape. There are woodland areas, moorland and crags and plenty of places to take amazing photographs. Tom and Sarah also run there often together as they do their training and really wanted to have their Otley Chevin engagement session at a place where they could feel so comfortable.

The Love:

Tom and Sarah love their fitness and in particular their running. They told me about how they enjoy marathon running, but even they were impressed by some of the runners we saw on our shoot who were pretty much up to their knees in mud. I had a bit of stress about dropping my cameras but they were so patient and just a lovely couple. I really liked the way that Tom helped Sarah up onto the crags and making sure that they both had safe footing. I could really see how they love each other, and that was an amazing thing to be able to capture an Otley Chevin engagement.

Lastly:

As a wedding photographer Leeds, most of the choices for photographs can feel limited to just the city centre . However just taking a bit of extra time to travel up to Otley or Ilkley is a great way of getting onto the moors where the views are just incredible and it makes for very atmospheric and romantic photographs. I love the challenge of being out in nature and looking for the best views. Otley Chevin engagements sessions have some incredible views.

Finally, I can’t wait for Tom & Sarah’s wedding now. It’s going to be such an amazing day at East Riddlesden Hall.
